Taipei--Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) launched an electronic store Thursday in collaboration with PChome Online Inc., providing shopping services via computers and mobile devices.
In a news release, THSR said consumers can now purchase its souvenirs by scanning the QR codes for the items, which are listed in a monthly magazine on its trains and also on its electronic advertising boards at most of its stations.
Of the 50 different THSR-themed souvenirs, the most popular is the 700T Push Train Set, a bullet train model that sells over 10,000 units per year, the company said.
It said its Cute 700T Shape Luggage Tag and the Cute 700T Metal Keychain, which both bear images of THSR trains, are also highly popular.
Meanwhile, the high speed rail service, which has been in operation for more than 10 years, on Wednesday started offering free WiFi on its trains traveling north of Hsinchu and at all 12 of its stations, THSR said.
The iTaiwan service, as it is called, will be made available on all THSR trains along the entire route by the end of the year, the company said.
