0ver 260,000 files on Chiang Kai-shek released online
Taipei--More than 263,000 documents pertaining to late President Chiang Kai-shek (???) are now available online after beign declassified, Academia Historia said Tuesday.
The files are accessible on Academia Historica's online archive at http://ahonline.drnh.gov.tw, the country's highest history institute said in a statement.
According to Academia Historica, the files, 61.65 percent of which were formerly listed as confidential, were uploaded to the archive in several batches between January and April this year, after they were individually audited and declassified between August and December 2016.
They represent 98.8 percent of all existing documents related to Chiang, the institute said.
The remainder that is not published online includes 0.74 percent that are limited to viewing at Academia Historica's library due to copyright restrictions, 0.44 percent that involve privacy, and 0.02 percent that should be kept confidential permanently to protect intelligence sources, according to the institute.
