More than 80,000 revelers flocked to Taipei’s Dadaocheng area to view an annual fireworks show held to mark Chinese Valentine’s Day Saturday night, according to Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism.
The office said that the crowds had been wowed by the 8-minute spectacular, which lit up the clear skies around Yanping Riverside Park from 8:10 p.m.
The office added that the number of revelers who turned out to enjoy pre-fireworks food, drinks, and musical performances from 4 p.m. had been boosted by the improving COVID-19 situation in Taiwan.
