Taipei-Brief showers have been forecast for mountainous areas across Taiwan Sunday afternoon, especially in the eastern part of the country, due to the effects of a low pressure system, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
Daytime highs are expected to range between 31-33 degrees Celsius, and the weather will be sultry if it does not rain, the Bureau said.
It added that there will be long waves along coastal areas in southern and southeastern parts of the country, including Orchid and Green island, and on the Hengchun Peninsula.
According to the bureau, chances are low that the public, in particular those in eastern Taiwan, could get a clear view of the moon on the Mid-Autumn Festival Friday, due to an approaching low pressure system.
Starting Monday, the moisture will be reduced, and the weather will be mostly sunny or cloudy from Tuesday to Thursday, the bureau forecast.
