Taipei: Taipei prosecutors have questioned an aide in connection with the disappearance of Chang Chun-chieh, the office manager for indicted Legislator Kao Chin Su-mei. Chang reportedly jumped bail shortly after meeting the aide on Sunday.

According to Focus Taiwan, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office conducted searches on Tuesday with the assistance of New Taipei Xindian Precinct police at the residences of Chang, his daughter, and an aide to Kao Chin identified as Chen. Chen was also summoned for questioning following the searches.

On Wednesday, further searches took place at Chen's office in the Legislative Yuan. Prosecutors granted Chen bail set at NT$50,000 (US$1,589), imposing restrictions on her residence.

Local news reports indicate that Chen met with Chang around 10 a.m. on Sunday. The pair reportedly shared a meal lasting less than an hour, during which Chang allegedly gave Chen unspecified objects. This meeting occurred hours before Chang's electronic wrist monitor emitted a low-battery alert on Sunday night, leading police to discover Chang's disappearance. The monitor was found broken and discarded.

Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Chang, but he remains at large as of Wednesday.
