Taichung: A man believed to be a migrant worker died Monday after being struck by lightning while fishing in Taichung, central Taiwan.
According to Focus Taiwan, the deceased, estimated to be around 30 years old, has not yet been identified due to the lack of an ID card, the Taichung Fire Bureau said. The bureau received a report at 4:51 p.m. about a male angler struck by lightning near a bridge in Houli District, prompting emergency personnel to rush to the scene.
The man, who had no vital signs when personnel arrived, was taken to hospital, where attempts to revive him failed.
