Taipei, The 2018 Calla Lily Festival at Yangmingshan National Park's Zhuzihu area officially kicked off on Friday, offering visitors a beautiful view of flower farms, concerts and a farmers' market.
Taipei City's Department of Economic Development has organized a number of events for the month-long festival that runs until April 29, the main attraction being what it calls "the merging of music concerts with landscape beauty."
This will take the form of concerts, on April 1, 14 and 15, at Da'an Forest Park in Taipei where calla lilies will be handed out to attendees.
The department is also partnering with Beitou Farmers' Association to offer guided tours on weekends and holidays during the festival for visitors to enjoy flower-picking, great food, and other activities in the Zhuzihu and greater Yangmingshan area.
Due to the large crowds expected to visit the national park during the festival, the Traffic Division of the Taipei Police will impose traffic controls on weekends and holidays in April from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for those going up the mountain, and from 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. from those coming down.
On those days the main roads in Zhuzihu will also be changed into one-way traffic lanes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The division encourages visitors to take public transport as parking spots are limited.
