Asus Hits 13-Year High in June Revenue; Acer Records Second Highest Month of the Year

Taipei: Taiwan-based Asustek Computer Inc. (Asus) on Wednesday reported a 13-year high in consolidated group revenue for June, reaching NT$68.573 billion (US$2.35 billion). Another leading Taiwanese PC brand, Acer Inc., announced its second highest monthly revenue for the year in June, totaling NT$28.685 billion.

According to Focus Taiwan, Asus attributed its revenue growth to strong demand for artificial intelligence (AI) servers and gaming products, with June's figures marking an 8.5 percent increase month-on-month and a 17.4 percent rise year-on-year. The company's second-quarter group revenue was recorded at NT$188 billion, reflecting a 30 percent increase compared to the same period last year. For the first half of the year, Asus's revenue stood at NT$335.7 billion, a 25.9 percent increase year-on-year. The company noted significant growth in revenue from gaming products during the second quarter, alongside a gradual increase in AI server shipments.

Meanwhile, Acer's press release highlighted its June consolidated revenue of NT$28.685 billion, which represents a 49.7 percent increase from the previous month and a 1.8 percent growth from a year earlier. For the first six months of the year, Acer's revenue reached NT$127.87 billion, marking a 1.5 percent year-on-year increase. Chromebook laptop revenue saw a substantial annual increase of 21.2 percent. Notable highlights from Acer's June operations include year-on-year revenue increases of 11.9 percent in laptops, 19.3 percent in desktops, 8.2 percent in Chromebooks, and 7.9 percent in commercial PCs.

Acer also noted that its strategy to diversify its business continues to yield positive results, with non-PC and non-monitor businesses contributing 26.8 percent of the group's revenue in June and 30.7 percent for the first half of the year.
