New graduates who join flat panel maker AUO Corp. in 2023 will have a chance to get NT$300,000 (US$9,934) as part of a recruitment drive announced by the firm Tuesday.
In a statement, AUO said “early bird” hires who receive a job offer before the end of April will receive NT$100,000 each, with those signing a contract with the firm potentially getting an extra NT$200,000.
The flat panel maker is rolling out the incentives in a bid to recruit 1,000 new employees in 2023.
The company added that its training program would help newcomers quickly adapt to the new environment and strengthen their know-how.
AUO’s hiring campaign will focus on the search of talent in developing advanced display technologies, pushing for a digital transformation and identifying customers’ needs in a bid to provide comprehensive solutions to the market, according to the firm.
In recent years, AUO has made efforts to carry out its “Biaxial Transformation Strategy” to “Go Premium” and “Go Vertical,” which the firm said has seen it allocate more resources to develop premium, commercial, and highly-customized products, as well as vertically-integrated total solution services.
In addition to sophisticated flat screen development, AUO said that it had also made inroads into smart display solutions, smart manufacturing and green manufacturing.
AUO said that in order to fulfill the flat panel maker’s ambitions for global expansion, newcomers hired in the recruitment campaign will have a chance to be assigned to the company’s overseas posts, such as the positions in the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia as well as to work for the subsidiaries inside the parent business group on a rotational basis.
Meanwhile, telecom giant Chunghwa Telecom Co. has also announced a massive hiring campaign to recruit 1,700 employees this year.
Chunghwa Telecom will assign more than 40 percent of new hires to 5G-centered emerging technologies, company chairman Sheih Chi-mau (???) said at the company’s New Year party.
Sheih said that emerging 5G technologies include Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), cloud-based applications, big data and cyber security.
He added that the company’s efforts in business transformation have paid off, as evidenced by net profits hitting a five-year high in 2022.
Sheih also noted that the company had become a leader in Taiwan by having the largest number of base stations in the country.
Echoing Sheih, Chunghwa Telecom President Kuo Shui-yi (???) said the company has faith to continue to lead in the local telecom market, although its major rivals Taiwan Mobile Co. and Far EasTone Telecommunication Co. are proceeding with their own acquisitions to grow.
In January, Chunghwa Telecom posted NT$0.42 in earnings per share, beating Taiwan Mobile’s NT$0.3 and Far EasTone’s NT$0.26.
