Aviation Agency Warns of Possible Flight Disruptions Amid Taiwan Military Drills

Taipei: The Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) has issued a warning regarding potential flight disruptions at seven airports across Taiwan due to the Han Kuang military exercises scheduled from July 9 to 18.

According to Focus Taiwan, the CAA released a statement detailing the dates when flight schedules might be affected at specific airports. The extent of these disruptions will be contingent upon the daily operations of the military drills and prevailing airspace conditions.

Taichung International Airport may experience disruptions on July 9 and between July 13 and 15. Taoyuan International Airport could see similar disruptions from July 13 to 17. Additionally, Kaohsiung International Airport, Taipei Songshan Airport, and Tainan Airport may face interruptions on July 13 and 16, with Tainan Airport also potentially impacted on July 14.

Hualien Airport is anticipated to encounter flight disruptions on July 15 and 16, while Chiayi Airport might be affected on July 16. The aviation agency noted that air traffic authorities might implement control measures as necessary, which could lead to flights being rescheduled or disrupted even after the exercises conclude.

The CAA has advised passengers to consult with airlines for the latest flight information prior to their departure to mitigate any potential inconveniences.
