Bad Weather Forces Flight Delays at Kaohsiung and Tainan Airports

Kaohsiung: Bad weather on Sunday forced temporary suspensions of ground operations at Kaohsiung International Airport and Tainan Airport, disrupting multiple flights, according to Taiwan’s Civil Aviation Administration (CAA).

According to Focus Taiwan, Kaohsiung International Airport halted ground operations at 3:15 p.m. and resumed service at 4:00 p.m., affecting 12 flights, the CAA said.

Tainan Airport suspended ground operations from 4:41 p.m. to 5:37 p.m., with two flights impacted, according to the agency.

The CAA said flight delays could also affect other airports with connections to Tainan and instructed terminals to notify passengers via bulletin boards, scrolling displays, and public announcements.

Earlier in the day, Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration (CWA) forecast extremely heavy rain in Kaohsiung or heavy rain in Tainan and elsewhere.
