Canada Day Festival in Taipei to Commemorate 40th Anniversary of Canadian Office

Taipei: Canada Day celebrations in Taiwan are set to take place on June 27, marking the 40th anniversary of Canada's representative office in Taiwan and the country's 159th birthday. The event, announced by Canada's envoy on Wednesday, will be hosted at Hakka Cultural Park in Taipei and will offer a range of cultural activities.According to Focus Taiwan, Marie-Louise Hannan, Canada's representative to Taiwan, stated that the annual festival will include live music and cultural performances, along with authentic Canadian food and beverages. The event will also feature family-friendly activities, aiming to create a festive atmosphere for attendees.The festival is regarded as a significant celebration not only for Canadians residing in Taiwan but also for people in Taipei and other regions who travel to participate in the festivities. Hannan, head of mission at the Canadian Trade Office in Taipei (CTOT), emphasized that the event, which has previously attracted up to 10,000 visitors, underscores the connecti ons between Canada and Taiwan.
