‘Cannabis Network’ storms Government House, protesting the return of cannabis to narcotics

Government House, "Cannabis Network" stormed Government House, submitted a letter to the Prime Minister, opposing the return of cannabis to the list of narcotics, asking for careful consideration, and slamming the government for colluding with capitalists to reverse the law. They are preparing to camp out overnight until their demands are met.The Thai Cannabis Future Writing Network, led by Mr. Prasitchai Noonual, Secretary-General, along with 50 people and signs from cannabis farms, marched from the United Nations Headquarters in Thailand, Ratchadamnoen Avenue, to the front of Government House to submit a proposal to the government to control cannabis under the Cannabis Act to resolve conflicts according to international principles.Mr. Prasitchai said that the network has a proposal to set up a joint committee to study and research 4 dimensions of cannabis, including:Is cannabis more harmful in terms of health than cigarettes and alcohol?Has marijuana caused more social harm in the past two years th an cigarettes and alcohol? Are the medicinal properties of cannabis better than those of cigarettes and alcohol? Is it true that marijuana causes mental illness and damages young people's brains as the government claims? When the research is crystallized, the results of the study should be used to determine the status of cannabis to be controlled by which law. If the study of all 4 dimensions shows that cannabis is not more serious than cigarettes and alcohol, and does not cause mental illness or damage children's brains, then it should be controlled using the Cannabis Act. However, if it is found to be more serious, then it should be controlled by the Narcotics Act.Mr. Prasitchai said that if Mr. Settha Thavisin, the Prime Minister, thinks that he is doing his duty as the Prime Minister, then he should accept the universal principles that the state listens to, practice in resolving the conflict, set up a committee to jointly study before determining the form of control, and should study the facts to mak e society clear who has lied to the people in the past. However, he confirmed that the masses will stay and rally until they get an answer from the government.Mr. Prasitchai said at the end that after this, we will expose the involvement of the capital group with people in the government, especially the Pheu Thai Party, both Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Mr. Settha Thavisin, and the relationship of this businessman with the big boss of the Pheu Thai Party.
