Cheng Li-wun Secures KMT Leadership with Over 50% Vote Share


Taipei: Cheng Li-wun has been elected as the new chairperson of the Kuomintang (KMT) after securing more than 50% of the votes, marking a significant leadership transition within the party.



According to Focus Taiwan, Cheng’s victory was prominently featured in several Taiwanese newspapers. The United Daily News and China Times both highlighted her triumph in their headlines, noting her successful election as the leader of the KMT. This election result is seen as a pivotal moment for the KMT, with Cheng expected to steer the party’s future direction.



In other major news, the Liberty Times reported on a natural incident where the bridge in Taroko’s Swallow Grotto has transformed into a ‘giant waterfall’ due to a leak from a barrier lake.
