Taipei-An approaching cold air mass that is forecast to arrive later Thursday will send temperatures plunging to around 10 degrees Celsius in Hsinchu and 14 degrees in Taipei early Friday morning, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Lows ranging between 10-14 degrees can be expected in low-lying areas as well as coastal regions in northern and northeastern Taiwan throughout Friday, CWB forecaster Hsu Chung-yi (???) said.
Sporadic rain can also be expected, Hsu said.
According to the CWB, daytime temperatures in central Taiwan Friday will range between 15 degrees and 25 degrees, while in southern parts of the island, the mercury will hover around 16-26 degrees.
The weather will become slightly warmer from Saturday as the effect of the cold air mass weakens, Hsu said, adding that it will cool down again as another northeasterly wind system arrives, bringing rain across Taiwan from Monday.
