Taipei-Cold and wet weather is forecast across Taiwan Friday following the arrival of a cold mass, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Daytime highs in northern and northeastern Taiwan will be 16-18 degrees Celsius and 21-27 degrees in other parts of the country, the bureau said.
It forecast that the cold mass will be at its strongest from Friday night to early Saturday morning, with lows of 13-14 degrees expected in northern and northeastern Taiwan, and 15-16 degrees elsewhere. In some areas in the north, the mercury could fall to 11 degrees, the CWB said.
Meanwhile, rain is likely in regions north of Taoyuan, as well as Yilan and Hualien counties in eastern Taiwan, while it will be sunny or cloudy in the rest of the country, the bureau added.
