Government House, The Prime Minister’s working group is confident that the “government app” is safe and that people’s data cannot be hacked through the web. They emphasized that the government will continue to solve the economic problems that have accumulated for 10 years and will attract investment opportunities into the country.
Mr. Supakorn Kongsomjit, the Prime Minister’s working group on international investment, emphasized the security of the “Tang Rath” application, which is a website system and application, both Web App and Mobile App, that are separated. Even if the website is hacked, it does not mean that the back-end data, which is the heart of the various service systems, can be accessed. It is like ordering food on an application or using the PromptPay service, which cannot be done on the website. Therefore, the core of the “Tang Rath” application is the Mobile App. There is no Web App, making it impossible to hack into important data.
As for the risks from usage, Mr. Supakorn recommends that
there must be good system management, such as developing a tight system. It is not recommended that citizens and administrators set easy passwords. Many risks in system development are manageable risks, which does not mean that they should not be done. However, the higher the risk, the more appropriate preventive measures must be taken. The purpose is to make it more convenient for citizens to access government services in the future. Therefore, the heart of the “Tang Rath” application lies in the internal services that have been designed with a security system to manage risks. The website is only for additional communication with citizens.
In the past, Mr. Supakorn mentioned an interview with Deputy Prime Minister Pichai Chunhavajira about the economic situation that is still facing problems, saying that the economic structure of Thailand today is the result of the movement over the past 10 years. Today, Thailand is adjusting slowly and has been used to it for a long time like a “boiled frog”. However, if w
e do not start today, the change will be postponed forever.
The government has been taking action since taking office, emphasizing the extension of the strengths of the current economic structure and the short-term impact on a large number of Thais, including tourism, medicine, transportation, agriculture, and food, which are industries that the government is fully pushing and expanding rapidly, which will be able to bring a lot of money into the country. Although they are small components of the economic system in terms of value, they are related to a large number of Thais. For continued growth, we must find markets that Thailand can further develop, such as developing airports to support tourism and the Land Bridge project, which will become an economic magnet, attracting investment, trade, the movement of goods, people, knowledge, and capital into the country, creating opportunities as a transit point for everything in the region.
In the long term, what needs to be done today in order to see results in t
he next 3-5 years is to attract investment from digital technology companies, AI, data centers, clean energy, financial hubs, and support Thai industries to join these ecosystems, which are high-value industries that can develop the country’s potential and the economy to become a knowledge-based economy. All of this will take time to see results, which will be consistent with changes in government services where citizens, businesses, government agencies, and the law are connected through the “Tang Rath” app, which will lay the foundation for E-government, which is the starting point of a true digital economy.
Mr. Suphakorn also emphasized that all of this shows that the government is restructuring the economy through working with the public and business sectors, which will be important players, with the government as a supporter and facilitator.
