Taipei-Taiwan on Saturday recorded 60 new COVID-19 cases, consisting of 11 domestically transmitted cases and 49 that originated abroad, with no new deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).

The new domestic cases involved four men and seven women ranging in age from under five years old to their 60s, the CECC said.

Of the 11 new domestic infections, six were fully vaccinated and all were linked to existing cases or clusters, including seven that were linked to a cluster at a Kaohsiung sand and gravel plant, the CECC said.

In addition to the domestic cases, Taiwan also reported 49 imported cases on Saturday, involving people who arrived in Taiwan from the United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Kyrgyzstan, Germany, Indonesia, Switzerland, Myanmar, China, and Lithuania.

To date, Taiwan has confirmed 19,515 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began in early 2020, including 15,307 domestically transmitted infections.

With no deaths reported on Saturday, the number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the country remains at 851.
