People in Taipei who wish to get a COVID-19 vaccine, including Moderna’s bivalent COVID-19 vaccine booster against the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants, will be able to make an appointment starting Tuesday.
The new round of reservations for the 73,000 available doses can be made from 9 a.m. Tuesday to 9 p.m. Friday on Taipei’s COVID-19 vaccination reservation system, with the shots to be administered Jan. 9-15, the city’s Department of Health said Monday.
Among the vaccines available will be the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines for children aged six months to 11 years old and for people aged 12 and older and the Novavax vaccine for people 12 years and older, the agency said.
The Moderna vaccines available will be the standard vaccine for people aged six months to 11 years old and the bivalent vaccines offered as a booster against the Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants for children aged six to 11 years old and those aged 12 and older.
Of the 73,000 doses, 50,000 will be the Moderna bivalent vaccine, according to the health department.
In addition to the city’s reservation system, National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and the Taipei City Hospital’s Women and Children Campus will also separately offer COVID-19 vaccinations for children from Wednesday to Friday.
