Premier Su Tseng-chang (???) has agreed in principle to support a “3+4” proposal to shorten the time people exposed to individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are required to remain in home isolation, though the policy will have to be coordinated with local governments before it can be implemented, Cabinet spokesman Lo Ping-cheng (???) said Sunday.
Earlier that day, local media reported that Su has given his backing to a proposal requiring people identified as contacts of COVID-19 patients to isolate at home for three days.
On the fourth day, such contacts will take a COVID-19 rapid test and be allowed to leave isolation if the results are negative, though they will still be prohibited from eating in restaurants or attending large-scale events for an additional four days, the reports said.
