Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno stated that digitizing the licensing of sports, arts, and creative economy events would offer efficiency and economic added value of up to Rp17 trillion (around US$1.12 billion).When met at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday, Uno stated that the pilot project for the licensing digitization system will commence in September 2023. ccording to the minister, during the pilot project, the government will continue to conduct an evaluation to offer convenience to three thousand arts and sports events this year, with a potential economic value of up to Rp197 trillion (around US$13.02 billion). "We expect it to encourage more events to be held. The holding of international-class events will be able to open business and employment opportunities, with a target of 4.4 million new jobs in 2024," he remarked. Uno noted that so far, numerous complaints had been received from arts and sports event organizers who said that the license had only been issued several hours before the event starts, which consequently led to uncertainty.
