EGAT has been closely monitoring water management and the flood situation in the northern region.For the water situation in the Bhumibol Dam as of August 24, 2024, the water volume i n the reservoir is 5,846.02 million cubic meters, accounting for 43.4 percent of the reservoir capacity. There is a total usable water of 2,046.02 million cubic meters, accounting for 21.2 percent of the reservoir capacity. It can still receive another 7,615.98 million cubic meters, accounting for 56.6 percent.In terms of the water situation in the Sirikit Dam as of August 24, 2024, the water volume in the reservoir is 6,330.60 million cubic meters, accounting for 66.60 percent of the reservoir capacity. There is a total usable water of 3,480.60 million cubic meters, accounting for 52.70 percent of the reservoir capacity. However, it can still receive another 3,179.40 million cubic meters, accounting for 33.40 percent.The Sirikit Dam has adjusted its plan to reduce water discharge to 3 million cubic meters per day to reduce the impact on people in the lower river basin and to benefit the storage of water for use during the dry season next year. It has been instructed to closely monitor and follow the situ ation, including integrating water management with relevant agencies to reduce the impact and alleviate the suffering in the flood-stricken areas.
