Taipei Everyone on board a Far Eastern Air (FAT) flight to Japan on Friday was safe following a malfunction in the aircraft's air conditioning system that filled the cabin with smoke shortly after landing, the airline said Saturday.
The incident took place on flight FE622 from Taoyuan to Niigata in western Japan, with passengers complaining that the carrier did not immediately explain what caused the incident.
The return flight scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday was delayed until Saturday due to the incident.
In response, FAT apologized for the inconvenience to passengers, adding that it is fixing the problem.
