Taipei, The first wave of this year's plum rain is forecast to arrive in Taiwan on Thursday, and will bring down temperatures, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said on Sunday.
Due to increasing northeastern winds, the weather across Taiwan will become cooler on Thursday, but it will soon stabilize with high temperatures the next day, CWB forecaster Liu Pei-teng (???) said.
On Sunday, daytime highs in the western half of Taiwan could reach above 30 degrees Celsius, and 27-29 in the east, according to Liu.
Sunny skies are expected throughout the country in the morning, with chances of afternoon rain in mountainous areas in northern, central and southern Taiwan, he said.
