Vienna: Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung concluded his European trip in Vienna on Friday by attending a cultural event and meeting with Austrian lawmakers, whom he thanked for their strong support of Taiwan.
According to Focus Taiwan, Lin wrote on Facebook about his participation in a concert featuring Taiwan's Hakka music, which was part of the "Taiwan Culture in Europe 2025" campaign. The cultural event served as a platform to highlight Taiwan's rich heritage and foster cultural ties between Taiwan and Europe.
Lin also attended a reception with Austrian parliamentarians, including Dominik Oberhofer, Laurenz P¶ttinger, and Ralph Schallmeiner. He expressed his gratitude for their support of Taiwan, emphasizing that their backing has strengthened the connection between Taipei and Vienna, especially at a time when democratic values globally face significant challenges.
During his stay in Vienna, Lin visited the Belvedere Palace, which is set to co-host an exhibition with Taiwan's National Museum of History in December. The exhibition will showcase European floral art from the 18th to 20th centuries, further enhancing cultural exchange between the two regions.
The foreign minister's European tour began on September 10, with visits to Prague in the Czech Republic, as well as the Vatican and Rome in Italy, before concluding in Vienna.
