Former President Ma plays food delivery man in gag video
Taipei-Former President Ma Ying-jeou (???) posted a video on social media Tuesday, in which he is seen on a scooter delivering food and his souvenir couplets to people ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Ma's appearance as a courier on a scooter was a gag, meant to give people a laugh, and at the time allowed him to personally extend Lunar New year wishes to people, the Ma Ying-jeou Foundation said after the video appeared on his Facebook page.
The food delivery service was real, as the former president took orders as they came and did not pick and choose which deliveries he wanted to make, his office said.
It did not disclose, however, which food delivery service Ma was working for that day, and his carrier bag did not show the name of any company.
The most challenging part of Ma's role was recovering his riding skills, as he had not driven any type of vehicle for a while, his office said.
Ma, who was Taiwan's president from 2008 to 2016, appeared as a clerk at a Taipei bookstore in 2019, in a similar Lunar New Year gag.
