The Commander of the Police Education Bureau revealed that the identities of the victims of the small plane crash have been verified at over 50%. Four individuals have been identified and relatives of the Chinese nationals are being contacted to compare DNA with the pieces found at the scene.Pol. Lt. Gen. Trairong Phiwpaen, Commander of the Police Forensic Science Office, Royal Thai Police, revealed the progress of the identification of the deceased from the small plane crash in Bang Pakong District, Chachoengsao Province. He said that officers have now been able to identify the identities of 4 deceased, all of whom are Thais: the pilot, the co-pilot, and 2 crew members. All 4 of them have clear fingerprint records in the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) of the Police Forensic Science Office, which examines their hands and feet. If we were to assess the progress, it would be more than 50 percent complete. As for the DNA collection, it is currently being examined from human body parts sent to the Police General Hospital's Forensic Medicine. It is expected that the results of the identification of the remaining deceased will be available on Monday (August 26, 2024). Initially, they are urgently coordinating with the relatives of the Chinese passengers to examine and confirm their identities. Officers have a list of all passengers and pilots on the plane, but they admit that the work is quite difficult because there are more than 90 pieces of body parts sent. Officers therefore need time to examine and confirm the DNA results found. And there will be another announcement of the progress of the identification process this Monday.Pol. Maj. Gen.
