A package of gunpowder in a cargo area at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport was suspected of having been ruptured and had to be destroyed, aviation police reported Saturday.
They said the shipment arrived at Taiwan from Japan en route to Malaysia, but ground staff, while unloading cargo, found that one of the gunpowder packages was cracked and leaking.
Seven other intact packages were repacked to be shipped to Malaysia.
Aviation police were investigating the incident.
