Hualien: The Hualien County government is set to distribute 10,000 tickets for the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) games in May and June, aiming to stimulate the local economy.
According to Focus Taiwan, the tickets will be available for a three-game series from May 9 to 11 and a two-game series from June 3 to 4 at the Hualien Baseball Stadium, which can accommodate 5,000 spectators. The county government announced that 2,000 tickets will be allocated for each game.
The CPBL website reports that the May series will feature the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions hosting the Fubon Guardians. In June, the Wei Chuan Dragons will face off against the Guardians.
Of the 2,000 tickets available for each game, 600 are reserved for disadvantaged groups. The remaining 1,400 tickets will be distributed via advance registration and on-site pickup. Hualien Education Department Director Weng Shu-min explained that 500 tickets will be set aside for advance registration, with the rest available for on-site pickup on game day.
Should fewer than 500 tickets be claimed through advance registration, the surplus will be added to the on-site ticket pool. Tickets will be available for pickup two hours before each game at the stadium’s first base side. Participants must present their event code and a photo with the required hashtag on the county government’s Facebook post.
Moreover, ticket stubs can be used for entry to local attractions and activities.
