Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's biggest carmaker, said Monday its June sales dropped 6.3 percent from a year earlier due to a slowdown in domestic sales.Hyundai Motor sold 375,167 vehicles in June, down from 375,167 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.Domestic sales fell 14.8 percent to 59,804 units from 70,163 during the cited period, while overseas sales slipped 4.4 percent to 291,712 units from 305,004.In the sedan category, a total of 16,513 units were sold at home, including 5,703 units of Grandeur and 5,712 units of Sonata models. A total of 19,056 SUVs were sold in the country last month.The company sold 12,104 vehicles under its independent luxury brand Genesis.For the January-June period, the company said it sold 2.06 million vehicles, down 0.9 percent from the same period in 2023.A Hyundai Motor official said the company will launch its new Casper Electric sub-compact SUV in the second half of the year and expand the lineup of its Ionic EV brand to regain momentum in electric car sales.Source: Yonhap News Agency
