Kaohsiung, An Indonesian passenger died on an EVA Air flight from Taipei to Jakarta Wednesday, the Kaohsiung Municipal Siaogang Hospital has confirmed.
The plane was forced to land in Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan because of the emergency incident, where the passenger was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital.
The passenger reportedly died despite being treated with CPR, conducted first by several Spanish-speaking passengers on board and later by medical personnel once the plane landed in Kaohsiung.
The passenger, believed to be in his fifties, was found in an acute state of shock aboard flight BR237 20 minutes after the plane took off, according to a post on a social media website by a netizen who claimed to be seated next to the stricken traveler.
