Taipei, One of the largest stamp exhibitions in Asia will take place in Taipei in October 2020, the fifth time the exhibition will be held in Taiwan.
The 38th Asian International Stamp Exhibition, hosted by Taiwan's national postal service, Chunghwa Post, will give exhibition-goers an understanding of different stamps' history, geography and culture and inspire the younger generation to collect stamps.
The theme of the event will be Between Stamp Squares: Taking You on a Trip.
Chunghwa Post said it will invite stamp collectors and philatelists from the 30 member countries of the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately, including from China, to the event.
China stayed away from the 2016 Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Taipei, and it is unclear if Beijing will again be absent from the 2020 event. Registration for the 2020 show opens on Aug. 1, Chunghwa Post said.
The exhibition will take place from Oct. 23 to 27, 2020 at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1.
Meanwhile, Chunghwa Post President Chiang Jui-tang is attending the 36th Asian International Stamp Exhibition in Singapore from July 31 to Aug. 4 with an accompanying delegation to promote the 2020 event in Taipei, according to the postal service.
The highlight will be a Taipei Night event held on the evening of Aug. 1 that will showcase traditional and indigenous performances from Taiwan, the company said.
