Kaohsiung Records Taiwan’s Highest Temperature at 38.5 Degrees: CWA


Kaohsiung: The Central Weather Administration (CWA) reported that Kaohsiung’s Neimen District experienced Taiwan’s highest temperature of the day, reaching 38.5 degrees Celsius as of 2 p.m. on Wednesday.



According to Focus Taiwan, the CWA issued “orange-level” heat alerts for areas including New Taipei, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, warning residents of potential temperatures reaching 38 degrees. The advisories also extended to Changhua, Yunlin, Pingtung, and Hualien counties, where daily temperatures are anticipated to hit 36 degrees for three consecutive days.



The CWA’s data also indicated “yellow-level” heat alerts for Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Nantou County, and Chiayi County, predicting maximum daily temperatures of 36 degrees. Meanwhile, heavy thunderstorm warnings were in effect for New Taipei, Taoyuan, and Hsinchu County until 4:15 p.m., and for Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Chiayi County until 4:30 p.m.
