A magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred off Taiwan's southeastern coast at 7:56 p.m. Monday, which was felt with an intensity of 3 in Taitung County's Donghe Township, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located 33.0 kilometers to the northeast of Taitung County Hall, at a depth of 17.9 km.
An intensity of 2 was felt in Hualien County's Yuli Township, Kaohsiung's Taoyuan District, Yunlin County's Caoling and Nantou County's Mingjian Township.
Intensity, measured in Taiwan on a 1-7 scale, gauges the actual effect of a temblor at a specific location.
