Bangkok--A man who was found dead in an apartment in Chonburi Province, eastern Thailand, could be Taiwanese, Thai police said Tuesday.
The police arrived at the apartment after receiving reports about a rotten smell, and found the man lying on his bed with two charcoal burners and a Republic of China passport by his bedside.
The police identified him as a 47-year-old surnamed Hsu. They also found a note written in English saying "I am sorry moto give owner."
Police are investigating the people who lived with the deceased. One of the friends of the dead man said he had not been seen for several days.
Taiwan's representative office in Thailand said it has contacted Chonburi police and after the identity of the deceased is established, will contact his family.
