Taipei, Mandarin Airlines announced Monday it will start flying between Taichung in central Taiwan and Tokyo in June, making it the first airline to fly the route.
Mandarin Airlines will offer a daily flight between the two destinations starting on June 14, with the outbound flight departing from Taichung International Airport at 7:30 a.m. and arriving at Narita Airport in Tokyo at noon.
On the return trip, the flight will take off at 1 p.m. and arrive in Taichung at 3:50 p.m. the same day, according to Mandarin Airlines, a subsidiary of China Airlines, one of Taiwan's biggest airlines.
Mandarin Airlines operates domestic and regional international flights, while the parent company focuses on international operations.
