Taipei-Migrant workers in Taiwan who want to leave the country for a short period before returning can now apply online for a re-entry permit, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) said Sunday.
According to previous regulations, migrant workers were required to apply for a re-entry permit in person over the counter before leaving for an overseas trip, the agency said in a statement.
To cut application delivery time and costs, an optimized online system for migrant workers to apply around-the-clock for re-entry permits is now available, according to the NIA.
Through the online system, re-entry permits can be issued in just two days, the NIA added.
