Government House, The Prime Minister's Office Minister discussed with BYD to introduce a measure to compensate old customers, free charging at 2,000 stations nationwide for 1 year, starting August 1.Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuphrai, Minister to the Prime Minister's Office, said after the meeting to discuss BYD's operations with BYD executives at Building 2, Government House that according to consumer complaints to the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) regarding BYD's electric car price reductions, which resulted in some consumers being treated unfairly, the OCPB did not remain indifferent and invited Mr. Pradhanwong Pornprapa, Executive of Reve Automotive Co., Ltd., the distributor and after-sales service provider of BYD cars in Thailand, to discuss the matter. The complainants were invited to provide information, evidence, and acknowledge their various needs together. Reve Automotive Co., Ltd. has cooperated well with the OCPB by sending representatives to provide information and discuss several time s.This discussion is a result of the previous discussion between Prime Minister Settha Thavisin and BYD executives from China, which showed positive results. Today (July 31), they discussed remedial measures that the company can implement and that consumers feel are appropriate and fair. Reve Automotive Co., Ltd. has implemented an initial measure by providing free electric charging at 2,000 charging stations nationwide, starting tomorrow (August 1, 2024) for a period of 1 year. This measure can only be used by old customers who purchased cars before the price reduction, which is approximately 50,000 cars.
