The atmosphere at Wat Yang Sutharam throughout the afternoon after relatives brought the body of Pol. Lt. Col. Lt. Gen. Samran Nuanma, Assistant Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, Pol. Gen. Thatchai Pitaneelabut, Assistant Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, along with many other police colleagues.

While Pol. Lt. Col. Wanphet Chanyarom, Deputy Commander of Division 2, Economic Crime Suppression Division, Central Investigation Bureau or PCSD, who is Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichan’s nephew, revealed that he was shocked after learning about the incident. However, he personally understood that on the day of the incident, he probably thought that the incident had been lessened because at first he saw him wearing a bulletproof vest and negotiating with the perpetrator. In addition, the perpetrator’s wife was worried about her child and wanted him to be taken out of the house. So, he went to charge, but the perpetrator’s child ran out, causing him to lose his balance and the incident occurred. He believed that he had already assessed the situation because this house had had many similar incidents.
Personally, I feel sorry. No o
ne should end their life like this. But I see it as a loss with benefits. If I hadn’t been shot, it might have been a child who got shot and didn’t grow up. From the incident that happened, I don’t want to blame anyone because I think everyone’s life is important. No one wants anything to happen. No one knows what will happen because it’s just a momentary lapse of reason. In the past, I’ve always been determined to fulfill my duty as a police officer. I have a lot of police blood. I love my job. I like to go out on patrol. I’m diligent. At night, I always listen to the walkie-talkie. Even though I’m not as physically strong as when I was young, I fought. I always think that I did my best and did my best.
For me, I became a police officer because my uncle had hoped for me to be a police officer since I was a child. In addition, my grandfather liked this profession and wanted his children to be police officers, so I became a police officer as my uncle had hoped. My uncle had always taught me that everyone must
know their duties, stay within the framework, and must not be careless in life. Now that my uncle has passed away, I cannot be weak. I believe that my uncle knows what he must do next because in the past, my uncle had always trusted me. I intended to make my family comfortable.
Finally, I would like to leave a message to every family: love each other and when there is a problem, talk to each other. Be mindful and take a step back. If everyone stays within the framework and knows their duties, such violent incidents will not happen.
At 3:50 p.m., after the Prime Minister paid his respects to the body and expressed his condolences to the family of Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichanom, there was a discussion about the officers’ performance. Pol. Lt. Gen. Samran gave an interview afterwards saying that the Prime Minister expressed his concern and emphasized the safety of the police officers while performing their duties, and supported them with equipment for their duties. Whatever the police lack, the Prime Minister will
provide it. As for the plywood bulletproof vests that are currently a hot topic of discussion on social media, he has not received any reports about it. It is only a trending topic of discussion on social media. In any incident that occurs, whether the operation is successful or fails, lessons will be learned and used for training of subordinates.
Later at 4:00 p.m., Pol. Gen. Torsak Sukwimol, the national police chief, also traveled to pay his respects to Pol. Lt. Col. Kittichanom before immediately returning.
