Taipei, The weather in Taiwan will remain hot until the next weather front arrives on May 23, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Friday.
Day-time highs on Friday will stay above 32 degrees Celsius around the country, reaching 35-36 degrees in western and northeastern regions, according to CWB forecaster Chang Cheng-chuan (???).
While eastern Taiwan may see sporadic rain, thunder storms are expected in mountainous areas in the afternoon, Chang said.
A similar weather pattern will continue until a new front arrives next Wednesday, bringing significant rainfall to parts of Taiwan, he said.
The front is forecast to leave Friday, giving way to clear skies, he added.
