Nvidia to Expand Taiwan Presence Amid Supply Chain Growth: CEO

Taipei: Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang announced plans to expand the company's presence in Taiwan, emphasizing the rapid growth of its supply chain, as he departed the country on Monday following a five-day visit. "We are hiring a lot of engineers here because our supply chain is growing very large," Huang informed reporters at Taipei Songshan Airport.

According to Focus Taiwan, when asked about the possibility of setting up an Nvidia headquarters in southern Taiwan, Huang clarified that the company already has an office in Kaohsiung, though most engineers are based in Taipei. He mentioned that any large office should ideally be located where the engineers are concentrated.

Huang highlighted that Nvidia's focus has expanded beyond graphics processing units (GPUs) to include central processing units (CPUs), networking chips, switches, and a wide array of other products. He expressed satisfaction with the expertise and dedication of Taiwan's workforce, noting their significant contribution to Nvidia.

Huang also revealed plans to open a significant site in Taiwan, with hopes for further expansion. He mentioned a future visit to Taiwan, where he intends to present Nvidia's new building design, though he withheld specific details for the time being.

Reaffirming his commitment to returning for Computex Taipei in June, Huang stated that he would deliver a keynote speech and make several announcements at the event, promising an exciting lineup for this year's Computex.
