Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Arrives in Taiwan, Plans Meeting with TSMC’s C.C. Wei

Taipei: Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang arrived in Taiwan on Saturday ahead of upcoming AI and technology events, stating he plans to meet with clients and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Chairman C.C. Wei during his visit. After landing at Taipei Songshan Airport, Huang engaged with fans and distributed Yakult drinks to reporters and supporters, mentioning he has "a lot to do" during the trip.

According to Focus Taiwan, Huang addressed queries about Nvidia's potential headquarters site in Taipei's Beitou Shilin Technology Park, which might commence construction on May 27. He stated that if an event is held, he would attend and might even reveal the design of the new building. On AI-related business, Huang mentioned Nvidia's close collaboration with partners, emphasizing mutual support.

This visit follows an announcement by AI chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) about its plans to invest over US$10 billion in Taiwan's industrial ecosystem. This investment aims to expand strategic partnerships and cater to AI infrastructure demand. Huang commented on the rising memory prices, highlighting their impact on electronic products and consumer electronics prices, describing it as a significant form of inflation. He expressed hope that memory suppliers would boost production to stabilize the market.

After his airport remarks, Huang proceeded to Taipei's Nangang District for Nvidia's "Meet-a-Claw" developer event, where he spoke briefly. He is also scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at Taipei Music Center on June 1, marking the start of this year's Computex Taipei.
