Odds of Getting Jody Chiang Return Tour Tickets Under 10%: Promoter

Kaohsiung: Fans of Taiwanese singer Jody Chiang will have a 7.6 percent chance of getting tickets to any of her 20 concerts on her first tour since she retired 10 years ago, tour organizer KHAM Inc. said in a statement Sunday.

According to Focus Taiwan, the promoter revealed that there have been 2,605,368 ticket registrations for an upcoming computerized draw to determine who can attend the concerts. However, only around 200,000 tickets will be available for the 20 performances. The 2025 tour will include eight concerts at Kaohsiung Arena from July 11-26 and 12 concerts at Taipei Arena from Aug. 8 to Sept. 1.

The registration period for tickets, as per KHAM's ticketing service, began at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. Each member was allowed to register for up to 12 tickets, with the option to select up to four tickets for one to three different dates. The results of the first draw will be announced at noon on Tuesday.

If any tickets remain unpaid by draw winners by noon on Jan. 9, those tickets will be included in a second draw for members who did not secure tickets in the first draw. The results of this second draw will be announced at noon on Jan. 13, and winners must pay for their tickets by noon on Jan. 15.

Chiang, now 63, returned from retirement on Oct. 5 to perform at a National Day event. In a statement released in early September, she explained her prolonged absence from the stage, citing serious health issues that required medication during her farewell tour in July 2015. Her health battles included long hospital stays, surgeries, chemotherapy, the loss of her singing voice, and a pulmonary embolism.

Despite these challenges, Chiang expressed a renewed passion for performing. "I'm a Taiwanese woman who sings with my life. Singing is the only thing I know how to do since I was nine," she said. "Life is short, I want to seize the moment and be myself. I'm picking up the microphone again to sing for my devoted fans."

After her Oct. 5 performance, Chiang also made guest appearances during two of Jay Chou's concerts at Taipei Dome held from Dec. 5 to 8.
