ONCB, ONCB Secretary-General approves compensation for Chiang Mai police officers injured and killed during drug raidPol. Lt. Gen. Phanurat Lakboon, Secretary-General of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB Secretary-General), along with Mr. Amnat Laokotee, Director of the Legal Division, ONCB Office, attended the 3/2024 meeting of the Subcommittee on Compensation for Reporters, Compensation for Officers, and Assistance for Drug Operations with the Subcommittee via Cisco Webex Meetings at the ONCB Office (Din Daeng). Today, the meeting considered approving the payment of assistance to officers who were injured and died from drug suppression operations, especially in the case of Pol. S.T.T. Saranyu Singkham, or Sergeant Cho, Commander of the Sergeant Major (Investigation), Na Wai Police Station, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province, who died while on duty while blockading and arresting a drug dealer's house. The incident occurred on July 11. The meeting resolved to approve financial assistance for the heir s in the amount of 500,000 baht and for Pol. Lt. Jiraphon Wangsaeng, Deputy Chief of Investigation, Na Wai Police Station, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province, who was seriously injured, in the amount of 60,000 baht, totaling 560,000 baht.Pol. Lt. Gen. Phanurat said that Prime Minister Settha Thavisin has emphasized the matter of building morale for officers working on drugs, police, military and related agencies by ordering the ONCB to expedite the consideration of approval of compensation for officers working on their sacrifices in order to make the officers' performance of duties more rigorous.
