P. LEAGUE+ & T1 LEAGUE/Ex-NBA player Viacheslav Kravtsov rumored to be Taiwan bound

Former NBA player and Ukrainian international Viacheslav Kravtsov is rumored to be Taiwan bound after reportedly signing for the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers of Taiwan’s P.LEAGUE+.

Speculation of Kravtsov’s arrival was sparked by two photos posted to social media by Taiwan’s representative to Hungary Liu Shih-chung (???).

In the caption for the photos — which shows the representative dwarfed by a man to his right wearing an “I am from Taiwan” bucket hat — Liu stated that “this 7-feet-tall former center from the Ukraine men’s national basketball team, whom I call the ‘Ukrainian version of Dwight Howard,’ will play professionally in Taiwan.”

According to a source close to the matter, the man posing with Liu is Kravtsov, a 35-year-old center who spent two seasons in the NBA with the Detroit Pistons and the Phoenix Suns.

While the source said the Ukrainian is set to join the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers, Steelers Manager Kao Ching-yen (???) declined to comment when asked about Kravtsov Wednesday.

Should the deal with the Steelers go through, Kravtsov will become the second Ukrainian in the P.LEAGUE+, alongside Taipei Fubon Braves center Ihor Zaytsev.

Kravtsov, who declared for the 2009 NBA draft but went unselected, last played for Menorca Bàsquet in Spain.
