Paper Windmill Theatre’s new truck to carry fire dance troupe on tour

Taiwan’s Paper Windmill Theatre said Thursday that its new tour truck will be hitting the road again soon, this time taking one of Taiwan’s fire dancing troupes on a tour of rural areas around the country.

At a press conference in Chiayi County, President of the Paper Windmill Arts Foundation Minny Chang (???) said the mission of the Paper Windmill Theatre troupe is to use art to bring mental and spiritual comfort to people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

To that end, Paper Windmill Theatre will be using its newly retrofitted tour truck to take the Coming True Fire Group on the road, Chang said.

The fire dancers will heat up rural areas across Taiwan with their performances, starting in Dalin Township Magical Park, in Chiayi County, on April 22, she said.

Coming True Fire Group leader Titos Tsai (???) told CNA that the troupe comprises some of the best fire dancers in Taiwan, who will be taking a newly choreographed show on the road, with the help of the children’s theater group.

Since Paper Windmill Theatre rolled out its tour truck for the first time in March 2014, the vehicle has made 221 performance tours of 140 locations around Taiwan, according to Chang.
