"Pheu Thai-Democrat" are delighted, "Chaichana" stops by to talk to "Surawong-Khattiya" in the parliament meeting room, while MPs are concerned about floods, ask the government to prepare a response plan.Reporters reported that after the Pheu Thai Party resolved to invite the Democrat Party to join the government, Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, found that during the House of Representatives meeting today (29 August), Mr. Chaichana Dechacho, MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat and Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, walked over to shake hands and sit and talk with Ms. Khattiya Sawatdiphon, MP for the Pheu Thai Party list, in the Pheu Thai Party MP seat area with a cheerful face. When Mr. Chaichana stood up and walked out, he met Mr. Surawong Thienthong, MP for Sa Kaeo and Secretary-General of the Pheu Thai Party, so they stood and talked for a while before walking their separate ways. Before entering the agenda of the House of Representatives meeting, the MPs were allowed to discuss the problems and hardships of the people. The MPs brought up the problems of the flooding in several northern provinces, including the shortage of water for consumption, water for agriculture, and poor quality tap water, and the shortage of water storage areas, both reservoirs and water barriers. Most of them agreed that Thailand had previously experienced flooding during the rainy season and experienced drought and water shortages every year. Therefore, they asked the new Cabinet to plan water management systematically and sustainably. As for solving the immediate problem, the MPs asked the relevant agencies to plan to cope with the amount of water from the North that will flow down to the Chao Phraya River basin to reduce the impact on the people as soon as possible. They also asked the government to urgently provide assistance to the people by coordinating with the Provincial Electricity Authority and the Provincial Waterworks Authority to reduce electricity and tap water bills for people in flood-stricken areas.Sou rce: Thai News Agency
