The Minister of Defense has ordered the army to urgently help people affected by the flood situation in the North and Northeast. In Chiang Rai Province, the Third Army Region has deployed forces and equipment to clean up the mud.Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, has ordered the 2nd Army Area to closely monitor the flood situation in the northeastern region, especially sending military personnel and equipment to help people in Nong Khai Province, as well as transporting people, belongings, and pets to safe areas.While the Mekong Riverine Peacekeeping Unit (NRK) of the Royal Thai Navy has prepared to help people in the Nong Khai area as well, by joining forces with the 2nd Army Area and the Army Development Command to enter the Nong Khai province to help people affected by the disaster.As for providing assistance to people in Chiang Rai Province after the water receded, the 3rd Army Region has sent additional forces to help people in Mueang District, Chiang Rai Prov ince, along with a set of mud cleaning tools. In addition, various units of the Ministry of Defense in the central region have also prepared to provide support to areas as requested.Source: Thai News Agency
