Terminal 2 of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport suffered a power outage around 7 p.m. Friday, which affected part of the departure hall, underground food court, baggage handling system and C1-C10 boarding gates, its operator said.
With a backup power system up and running, the power outage has not affected the arrival and departure of planes, nor lights on both runways, said Taoyuan International Airport Corp.
Passengers checking in for their flights at the terminal had to do so at counters that still had power, while checked in bags were being sorted manually by ground workers, the company said.
Other than two passenger services, most of the Friday evening flights scheduled at the airport are carrying cargo, according to the airport’s website.
