Preliminary hearing for Taiwanese terror threat student

Media, Pennsylvania, The Taiwanese student accused of threatening a terrorist attack against his school in Pennsylvania made his first appearance in front of the press Wednesday following his detention in March, as he attended a preliminary hearing for his case.

Wearing a blue T-shirt over a gray sweater, An Tso Sun (???), who is charged with making "terroristic threats" and possessing "instruments of crime," according to the Delaware County District Court, had his hands cuffed, although his legs were not shackled.

Although the 18-year old Taiwanese national had little to say to the reporters, he mentioned wanting to read comic books.

Sun has been held in custody at the Delaware County Jail for the past 29 days ever since his March 26 arrest on suspicion of threatening to carry out a mass shooting on May 1 at Monsignor Bonner Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School.

Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood told CNA the day before that Sun's attorney, Robert Keller, is planning to waive his client's right to any more hearings, which would allow the case to move forward and be resolved through a plea bargain.
